Primitive Kitchen

The Primitive Kitchen at the Museum of Western Expansion is thought to be the first room built at the Wright House. It is one of the larger rooms in the house and was a gathering place for friends and family.  This is where we gather for different occasions and seminars.

The kitchen exhibit offers a look into the cooking trends of the 18th  and 19th centuries, the implements uses for cooking, food preservation, and eating.  It will also feature unique glimpses into the historical past of the Tavern and Inns of the early days of Northern Virginia and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Another features of the Primitive Kitchen are display cases holding historical artifacts that were excavated at nearby Fort Cox and the grounds of the Wright House.
