Other rooms in the Wright House open to the public are
the Colonial Room, the Wright Bedroom, the Parlor, the Dining Room and a Modernized Kitchen. At each end of the house above the kitchens are “half-story” rooms which can only be accessed by narrow steep stairways from the outside. The rafters inside one of the rooms is made from logs which still have the bark on the outside.
Colonial Room

The Colonial Room covers a turbulent time in the 18th century. The first steps taken toward western expansion began in the late 17th century with the eastern traders from Pennsylvania and Virginia in their quest for furs and hides. This room features a broad area of interests that include native peoples, trade, tools, clothing, and common frontier life and tradition.
What affected the people of the Monongahela River Valley was a primer for those who would venture west in the years to come. The outline of westward exploration and settlement of the frontier was written here in Northern Virginia/Southwestern Pennsylvania.
